3D Projections for Terrain Mapping

Goals

Development of specialized projections for digital 3D-maps.

Results

Terrain Bender software for applying progressive bending to digital terrain models. It offers interactive tools to add a bent base to a digital terrain model.

Rendering software (ray caster) in C++ including a variety of projections:
  • straight projective rays: progressive projection, plan oblique projection, fish eye projection, flexible viewing angle, etc.
  • curved projective rays: camera moving along an arbitrary line, "lake panorama"
